New Year

The start of the year is a particularly good time to reflect and plan. Thinking through what you would like to accomplish and what you'd like to change in the next year. Thinking of fond memories and relationships you've had and formed in the past. For me the new year links up with a new job as well. It makes me think about my time at Brocade/Extreme and the amazing people I met and got to work with. About the accomplishments. I learned so much over the last five years, made a lot of mistake, and had a lot of successes. I'm particularly thankful for team I was asked to lead. They're some of the best developers and individuals I've known. The combined ability to execute and navigate complexity is a rarity and was inspiring to observe and work with.

Towards the end of this month I'll join Juniper and I'm quite excited to join a lot of my friends there. I'll still be focusing on automation -- my bread and butter -- and I'm really looking forward to working with Juniper's ecosystem. When I think about the word "quality" in the context of the networking industry Juniper is always a name that pops into my head.

I just want to end by saying a simple thank you to everyone I got to work with at Brocade/Extreme. It's been a fun journey so far and I'm looking forward to what's next.

The scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. One must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite insane.
